Jessalyn was so excited to get to school, that she ran ahead of me (and then stopped to get a good view of the playground):

Making herself right at home:
Jessalyn had a great first day today. Luckily, I was able to hold back the tears until I left her classroom. She told me her favorite part of the day was eating in the cafeteria. And she really liked that her teacher read “The Gingerbread Man” and then sent the students on a scavenger hunt to find gingerbread cookies! I think it’s going to be a fun year...

Awww! I'm sure that was tough on you but Jess seems fine with it all. She's growing up so fast!
Today seemed harder than yesterday....just dropping her off and watching her walk up that loooooooooooong walkway to the school. She seemed so small. And so grown up. Made my heart ache. She did turn around and wave to me, though. And when I went to pick her up, she was watching for my car and started waving like crazy when she saw me. And then she started blowing me kisses. Made my heart sing.
